Mary Dobbins Obituary

Mary A. Dobbins Marshall Mary A. Dobbins, 81, of Marshall, died on Monday afternoon, April 20, 2009 at her home in the love and care of her family. Mary was born July 9, 1927 in Somerville, Massachusetts to Richard F. and Matilda B. (Egan) Foley. On January 9, 1954 she married James E. Dobbins in Boston, Massachusetts. The couple moved to Marshall after their marriage. Mary retired from Bostick Corporation in 1972 after working there for 21 years in their accounting department. Other local employment included S.H. Leggitt Company. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the church's Rosary and Altar Society. She was a member and served as president of the Mother's Club and was a Blue Bird Leader. Mary was a member of the Women Of The Moose of Moose Lodge #676. Mary was artistic and painted in water colors. Surviving are her husband, James E. Dobbins; 2 sons, James (Rosie) Dobbins of Collingswood, NJ and Jay Dobbins of Battle Creek; 2 daughters, Janet Dobbins and Judy Dobbins, both of Marshall; and grandchildren, Bridget, Kelsey, Maxwell, and Jamie Rose Dobbins and Arianna Dobbins and Camille Dobbins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Foley. Visitation will be on Thursday at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home with the family present 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 p.m .Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Our deepest sympathy to Mary's family. Bill and I worked at Bostik with Mary. Mary was a very caring person. I always remember her asking me if I wanted a 'tonic' to me that meant alcohol, but to Mary being from Boston it meant soda.
