George Mast Obituary

George Royal Mast Knoxville, TN George Royal Mast, age 96, of Knoxville, TN, died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospice, Halls in TN. He was born September 19, 1912 in Battle Creek, MI. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with two years of college education at Michigan State University. He retired from the U.S. Dept. of Defense. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Harry and Lela (Gault) Mast and his wife, Zella Mast. He is survived by his daughter, Candace Mast and his son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Zelma Mast; grandchildren, Aron Mast and Angela Rigby; great-grandchildren, Braden Mast, Reagan Mast, Ruthanne Rigby and Elizabeth Rigby; sister, Bette Bracy; sister-in-law, Betty Gardner; nieces, Patti Dillon, Michelle Nasers, Penny Henker, Carole Hubbard, Sharon Minnie and Linda Ferenz; nephews, Ronald Bracy and Frederick Michael Goretzka. A prayer service was held May 22 at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, Knoxville, TN. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4205 Hillsboro Ave., Suite 200, Nashville, TN; American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909; American Cancer Association, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909; or St. Mary's Residential Hospice Halls, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938.
