Patricia McAfee Obituary

Patricia A. McAfee Portage Patricia McAfee, age 81 of Portage, died Thursday May 21, 2009 in Kalamazoo. She was born December 1, 1927 in Battle Creek to George and Mildred Watrous. She graduated from Lakeview High School, attended the University of Michigan and the Art Institute of Chicago. Patricia retired in 1989 from the Battle Creek Veterans Administration. She spent her life as a devoted mother and homemaker with a passion for cooking, entertaining, sewing and gardening. She was an avid reader all of her life. Members of Patricia's family include her children: Julie (Bill) Chase of Portage, John (Jenny) McAfee of Sylvania, OH, Amy Mathews of Irving, TX; daughter-in-law: Lynda McAfee of Stuart, FL; grandchildren: Scott, Hank and Mark McAfee, Kate (Travis) Chase-Noa, Peter Chase, Kory, Josh and Kailee McAfee, Haley and Colin Mathews; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Tim. Services to celebrate Pat's life will be held Friday, June 5 at 11 a.m. at the Life Story Funeral Home Portage, 5975 Lovers Lane (344-5600) where a luncheon will be served following the services.
