Rex Robinson Obituary

Rex W. Robinson Athens Rex W. Robinson, formerly of Athens, passed away October 27, 2008 in Cape Coral, Florida after a brief illness. Rex was born on March 8, 1919 to Millard and Carol (Eitinear) Robinson in Burlington, Michigan. He graduated from Athens High School in 1937. Rex married Grace Worden in 1939. He was in the U.S. Army for a short time in 1944. In 1970 Rex was stationed in Europe by Clark Equipment Co. He retired from Clark Equipment Co. in Battle Creek in 1982 after 30 years of service. He moved to N. Ft. Myers in 2000 and married Mary Ellen Lee on November 20 2006. Rex was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Grace; only daughter Carol Rae Casey; brother Dale Robinson; step-great-granddaughter Casie Kasack Lee; and his second wife Mary Ellen. Since Rex's death his son-in-law John Casey has also passed away. He is survived by a sister Elna Brand of Battle Creek; three grandsons, Timothy (Heidi) Casey of Boulder, Colorado, Jeremiah (Chelley) Casey of Boston, Massachusetts, and Christopher (Bonnie) Casey of Weathersfield, CT. , one great-grandchild Haylie Casey, three stepchildren, Ruth Ellen (Bill) Akers of Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. William Lee of N. Ft. Myers, Florida and Barbara (Bill) Moon on Minot, ND., ten step grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren, six step great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 1:00p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 with a 2:00 p.m. memorial service to follow at the Spencer Family Funeral Home, Athens. Inurnment with military honors by the Athens V.F.W. Post 5319 at the Burr Oak Cemetery, Athens. Memorials may be directed to the Athens V.F.W. Post 5319. Arrangements by Spencer Family Funeral Home, Athens. www.spencerfamilyfuneralhome.com
