Dear Kay and family:
We share your loss of Dick, a wonderful guy who made every moment around him something special. He had a great love for everyone and did so much good in his lifetime for so many people. He brightened a room when he entered it and uplifted the spirits of all present. While we feel a tremendous loss in his passing, his was a life to be celebrated and cherished. So long, Big Guy, you were the best.

I would like to send my regards to the family. I worked for a company in Winchester, Ky that bought paper from Dick and Rick and I loved both of them. They were both first class in my book. I can still hear Dick's roaring laughter and big smile. He loved a good joke and good company. I loved his stories. He filled the room with his spirit. I know that Rick loved his father so much - to him, I would like to say that your father was a special man. The world was a better place with him in it. Now Heaven is getting the best end of the deal. Brenda S Smith (Stanton, Ky)

Known as Uncle Dick to us, I remember my father telling me about his crop dusting days. Uncle Dick was dusting in the UP and hit a Tamarack tree coming off a field. The plane crashed, Dick cracked some ribs, got out just before it burst into flames. Close call. Mom always talks about how her big brother would look out for her. Spent a lot of time on Riverside drive as a kid at his house. Todd, Jeff, Bill, sorry for your pain and loss. We all miss him.

I wanted to tell the family how sorry I was to hear the news. I know that Dick is in a better place, with no pain or suffering. He was a gentle and kind man, who took excellent care of my grandmother. He has a special place in my heart and will be missed. I loved to sit and hear his stories about his life! He indeed lived life to the fullest. My prayers are with you
