Thomas Allen Colwell

Thomas Allen Colwell Los Angeles Thomas Allen Colwell, formerly of Battle Creek, age 53, passed away March 13, 2009, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Thomas was born on June 22, 1955, in Battle Creek, the son of William and Danine Colwell who survive. He was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School in 1973 and from Western Michigan University in 1980. Thom was very active in Civic Theater both in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo. Thom owned a theatrical supply store called" FOUR THE ARTS" in Kalamazoo for several years before moving to Chicago in 1987 to work as a talent agent. In 1990 Thom and his young family moved to Los Angeles where he worked in the film industry. He was an ACE award nominee in 1993 and 1994; in 1995 he was nominated for an Oscar. He is survived by his children, Nicole and Natalie Makas-Colwell; former wife, Diane Makas-Colwell; sisters, Ruth (Roy) Downs and Judi (Jeff) Palmer. A memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2009, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Battle Creek. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
