Jesus "Papi" Martinez, Sr. Battle Creek Jesus "Papi" Martinez, Sr. 83, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Battle Creek Health System. Jesus was born on February 6, 1926. He was employed by Mid-Michigan Metal plant before retiring due to health reasons. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joaquina Martinez. To cherish his loving memory are his children: Jesus (Martha) Martinez, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Eloisa Rangel, Mila Martinez, Humberto (Lucy) Martinez, Oscar (Karen) Martinez, Fernando (Kim) Martinez and Jorge (Kendeitha) Martinez all of Battle Creek. He also leaves behind a loving brother, Leonardo (Olivia) Martinez of Albion; a loving sister, Aurora Galvan of Donna, TX; four grandsons; eight granddaughters; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The family would like to give special thanks to Lifespan, Airway Oxygen and DaVita Dialysis Center for their care and professionalism.
