Soledad "Sally" Burdette

Soledad "Sally" "Tia" Burdette Battle Creek Soledad "Sally" "Tia" Burdette, 85, of Battle Creek formerly of Texas passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek. She was born August 22, 1924 in Pearsall, TX the daughter of Eliseo Rosales and Juanita Maria (Sanchez) Aranda. She married Ernest C. Burdette on March 11, 1968 in Athens, Tennessee and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2003. Sally worked for Rose Wire Products for 17 years until she retired in 1986 and at V.C. Squires for ten years. Sally and her husband, Ernest, co-owned the Springfield Tavern for 3½years. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens, as well as attending to her lawn. Sally enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casinos and crocheting. Sally received her education in Texas and came to Battle Creek in 1940. She is survived by her step-son, Dannie Lee Burdette of Monroe, LA; son, Rick C. (Karen) Burdette of Battle Creek, 4 grandchildren and 9 special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Gloria Jean; step-son, James Burdette; sisters, Mary Lou Birch and Lilly Arredondo. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 8:00 p.m. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor James Codde officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
