Walter Zerlak Obituary

Walter Zerlak Battle Creek Walter Carl Zerlak , 85, of Battle Creek, died Friday, December 11, 2009, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 'Hospice', Battle Creek, Michigan. Mr. Zerlak the son of Anthony and Flossie Zerlak, was born February 9, 1924, in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the Detroit Public Schools, prior to serving in the United States Marines, Army and Air Force. He received an Honorable Discharge with more than eight years of miliary service. He lived in Flint, Michigan, prior to coming to Battle Creek, in 1951. He was a Manager in the Personnel Department of Clark Equipment Company and also was a Manager in the Personnel Department of American Stamping. Mr. Zerlak met and later married the former Kathleen C. Gallagher, September 15, 1962, in Battle Creek, Michigan, she survives. He enjoyed traveling and flea markets. Other survivors include, daughter, Angela (Bennie) Martin, Indianapolis, Indiana, step-sons, Robert (Rita) Hinman, James (Jean) Hinman both of Battle Creek, step-daughter, Sandi (Larry) Eytcheson, Martinville, Indiana, brother, Frank Zerlak of Detroit, fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
