Edwin C. Ashby

Edwin C. Ashby Marshall, formerly of Delton Passed away December 13, 2009. Edwin was born April 16, 1934 in Delton, the son of Clare and Thelma (Trine) Ashby. He was a retiree of Michigan Carton Company, retiring in 1989, with over thirty eight years of service. Edwin was past president of the Barry County 4 H, Horses Division. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, golfing and working crossword puzzles. Edwin is survived by his wife Geneva (Jackson) whom he married on February 10, 1979, sons: Leslie (Vickey) Ashby, Michael Ashby, and James Ashby, a daughter Susan (Craig) McCaskill, step-children: Peggy Morris, Dave Smith, Monica Jo (Danny) Callwell, and Jason Smith, a sister Catherine Van Lake, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Louise Ashby. His family will receive friends Wednesday, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home, in Delton, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 17, 2009, 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Jeff Worden, officiating. Burial will take place in Floral Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association will be appreciated.
