Carol Gable Obituary

Carol Lee Gable Battle Creek Carol Lee Gable, 72, of Battle Creek died Sunday afternoon, December 27, 2009. She was born in Battle Creek on April 26, 1937 the daughter of William and Ella (Burroughs) Begg. Carol graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1956 and retired from the Battle Creek Enquirer in 1996 after more than 25 years of faithful service. Carol married Clark M. Gable in Battle Creek on June 23, 1956; he survives. She is also survived by her children, Teri Gable of Battle Creek, Gary (Maria) Gable of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Brad Gable of Largo, Florida; grandchildren, Amanda (Ken), Kalyn, Nicole, Jacob; and many nieces and nephews. Carol was a member of the Old Car Club and the local Stamping and Diabetes Support groups. She enjoyed cooking, camping, bowling and collecting thimbles, stamps and coins. Carol also loved to spend time with her family and friends. At the request of the family, they will receive friends, 4:00 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Carol's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the funeral home with Chaplain Beverly Kelley, officiating. Interment will follow at Hicks Cemetery. Memorials directed to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com
