Louise Blount Obituary

Louise A. Blount Battle Creek Louise Ammie (Clingmon) Blount, 74, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Laurels of Bedford in Battle Creek, MI. She was born October 30, 1935 in Marianna, AR, the daughter of Ozzie Roosevelt Clingmon and Ammie (Hicks) Clingmon. In her early years, Louise worked in Chicago at the Cordan Hotel as a maid about 11 years, after coming to Battle Creek in 1968 she was a homemaker and mother. She married Webster David Blount, Jr. on June 21, 1968 in Battle Creek, MI; however he passed away in 1996. She is survived by two daughters, Wardeen (William Dale) Davis of Battle Creek, and Lucille Maria Murphy of Niles, MI; one son, Timothy David (Willie Grace) Blount of Springfield, MI; special daughter and son, Deborah and Albert Brown; seven grandchildren: Tarrence David Clingmon and Tracey Lynn Clingmon both of Battle Creek, Jacqueline Clingmon of Atlanta, GA, Ammie T. Buchanan of Indianapolis, IN, Phillip Murphy, Jr. of New York City, William Dale Davis, Jr. of Battle Creek, and Wade Davis of Atlanta, GA; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Webster D. Blount in infancy; her brother, Abraham Tolbert on November 22, 1981; and a sister, Lucille Clingmon. She received her education in Chicago. She was a member of Jehovah Witnesses Central Congregation and baptized in 1997. She loved fishing, avid reader, a strong supporter of the Detroit Lions football team, and enjoyed traveling. Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services commemorating the life of Louise Blount will be held Thursday, 12:30 p.m. in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Richard Fox of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to Lifespan-Good Samaritan Hospice Care.
