Charles Christner Obituary

Charles D. "Chris" Christner, III Homer Charles D. "Chris" Christner, III, 49, of Homer died suddenly on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at home. Chris was born on September 27, 1960, in Marshall to Charles D. and Janet K. (Nugent) Christner Jr. Chris, or Chuck, as he later known, graduated from Marshall High School in 1978. On March 14, 1991 he married Theresa Jean Lochinski in Jackson. She survives. Chuck was the store keeper for the Michigan Department of Correction at both the Cotton and Egler facilities. He had been working there for 24 years. He is survived by his wife, Theresa of Homer; four children, George Lochinski of Homer, Kathleen (Douglas) Albert of Jackson, Kimberly Lochinski of Homer, Samantha Christner of Alma; and a grandson, Kenneth Campbell Albert. He is also survived by his parents, Charles and Janet Christner of Marshall; two sisters, Kathleen (Mark Gerth) of Battle Creek, Keri (Scott) Koch of Marshall; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Monday from 2-8 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Marshall United Methodist Church with Reverend Len Schoenherr officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Haven of Rest, American Diabetes Association or Marshall United Methodist Church Contemporary Worship.
