To Helen and the Cooke family,

I was just looking Patrick up and saw that he'd passed a year ago. My deepest condolences to you all for your loss. He was a loving, kind and funny man, a great chef, a talented pharmacist (how many remember that?). I have always felt blessed and enriched that I had great times with him in Maryland, and have been content knowing that he was happy doing what he loved in Springfield. My (belated) very best to you all.

To Patrick's family. I'm so deeply saddened by Patrick's passing. I was on a "search" after having an intense dream about him and found he had passed away. Patrick and I attended SUNY Cobleskill together in the early 70's. We spent time in each others homes and his Mom, Patricia gave me my first Thanksgiving dinner with her famous oyster stew. I loved the Cooke family and was blessed to know all of you. You have been in my heart with happy memories for many years. Meals around your kitchen table were outrageous! My family adored Patrick and my sister's and brother's (7 in all) still talk about him. I have photo's of our days together which I will always cherish. I feel so proud of Pat, learning of his accomplishments. He was at Howard the last time I heard from him. All of the loving messages that have been left for Patrick and the family are true. Even as a young man, Patrick was an extraordinarily loving person. He brought love and laughter into my life..I will miss more then ever.

To the Family of Dr. Patrick Cooke, I was a patient of Dr. Cooke's for the last five years and he was truly a wonderful Dr. It was always a pleasure to go to my appointments with him. He was what I consider to be a rare Dr. esspecially these days. He was full of compassion and you could really tell that he cared about you not only as a patient but as a person. Both Mercy Hospital and Baystate Medical Center have lost a excellant Dr. who will never be replaced. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

My deepest sympathies to the family but especially to his dad . I dated Patrick for a few years in high school and spent most of my time at your home. He was my first love and I thought of him often over all this time. I knew he would have been an MD but I didn't know where he was. How tragic to look him up today only to find his obituary.Find peace in his spirit and love of life. I will miss him and I miss you all as well.

To Dr. Cooke's family: It was with great sadness to hear of Patrick's passing. I met him many years ago while working for Dr. Sheffield (another GI specialist) when he first came to the Springfield area. He was a wonderful person to know and to talk to, always with a smile on his face and a joke to tell you. He was the GI physician to many of my family members and most recently my own 'doctor'. He was the nicest, gentlest, most compassionate man and physician and will be greatly missed by all who ever came into his life. My deepest sympathy to all of the family at this very sad time. May God bless you all. Always remember how very special a man Patrick was. With sincere sympathy, Karen Drenzek

All my memories are gold where Patrick is concerned. He and Clark camping and fishing together and coming home stinking to high heaven. Saturday night pizza parties, prom night , Sunday dinners at my house. This world is a much colder place without him. They say the good die young, well I can believe that where Patrick is concerned. I remember Peggy very well she was a wonderfully sweet girl and her family will always miss her and now will miss Patrick as well. God Bless you all and may Patrick rest and abide in peace.

To Dr. Patrick Cooke's family and friends,

My husband and I had the pleasure of getting to know Dr. Cooke for only the past few years as his patients, and are so very saddened to hear of his passing. His empathy and compassion came through each time either of us saw him. I will never forget one of the first few appointments I had with him and how at ease he made me feel... as he held up the johnny top he wanted me to put on, saying "We have a lovely and stylish gown for you Mrs. Bertrand, made in America and - - made of 100% cotton!" Indeed, he had a great sense of humor and a wonderful bedside manner! We are honored to keep Dr. Cooke and his loved ones in our prayers. May God Bless and Comfort You.

With deepest sympathy,

To the Cooke family,

The fond memories will never fade. As fleeting as some of them may be, the 35 years I have known Patrick will be forever cherished. With my son being named for Patrick, I now have the double fortune to know that his memory will be intertwined with another generation. Indeed, I have also been blessed to have known Patrick for all these years and to also have my children meet him for the first time last year at a quail hunt in New Jersey. Thanks again Patrick for all the memories. We will all miss you.

Our deepest sympathies.

Dr. Cooke was amazing. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. He always made me feel better when I went to see him. Regardless of how ill I felt physically, he always made me feel better with a smile, or a joke or to pick on my red sox hat. Of all the doctors I have ever had, he was by far my favorite. I looked forward to the visits to his office even though visits to the doctor are typically a chore, it felt like I was visiting a friend. He will definitely be missed. I have never had a doctor spend so much time or be so caring. He was an angel on earth.

It was with great sadness and shock to see Pat's obituary in the Banner. Pat was in my class -'71 - and he was a wonderful guy then. He most always had a smile on his face, was very gentle but yet he enjoyed competing for high grades with Danny Dempsey. I remember him in his football uniform and also in our plays. The last time I saw Pat was at a class reunion at the Dearstyne's and he looked great and seemed to be happy with his life. Reading all the entries gives me a glimpse of the Pat he became - a wonderful physician and a friend to many. That is a wonderful legacy. My sympathy to your family - Patrick was a wonderful person.!
