It has been nearly a year since my God-child (William) and my little Dominic, have left us behind. Dominic looked after my wife Lidia and our newborn son Luigi, who happened to be born on the 6th of January, 25 years to the day that William was born. After, we said goodbye to William and Dominic, two boys entered our family: Maria had her second son and so did I. I guess this is the cycle of life, and the precious gifts God gives us so that we cannot ever forget. How much William and Dominic would have loved their new nephew and cousin, but the choice was to be Guardian Angels instead. I miss the philosophical conversations I had with William; while I never got to beat Dominic in Chess. I can only protest about the Chess matches! We miss you dearly boys, keep "fishing" for souls to lead to Christ. God Bless, Uncle Ed, Aunt Lidia, Luigi Leonardo, and Angelo Giovanni.

My very deepest sorrow goes to your family. I had not known of your family until about 1 hour ago when I read the Christendom paper and came upon the article while visiting my in-laws in Nebraska. I truly fell to my knees with over whelming grief for your family. I am so sorry and promise to pray so hard for your family. I will offer my "little" sufferings for your intentions each day. God must love your familiy so very deeply. Thank you once again for the reminder how very, very precious life and the lives of our children are.

Dear Davulis Family:
Ten years ago this Sept. my only son died. He too was wearing his brown scapular. Not a day goes by that I do not pray for him and to him, and oh God how I miss him. I knew of Dominic's illness and was praying the Chaplet for him every day. What a shock to see the picture and read the story of William's tragic loss to you. How happy Dominic had to be when he became alive in Heaven, greeted by Jesus, and their beside Him was his beloved brother William. Some of us walk the walk of Calvary, but you will truly live Calvary each day. As Mary's faith and love sustained her, I have no doubt that the faith of all the members of the Davulis family and the love they share for each other will lift each of you up and carry you on day by day until that glorious reunion in Heaven takes place.

We just found out today; my family had been away in Canada all week. I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. I'll call again when things settle for you all. I adored every moment of my childhood that was spent with your family. I look back on those days fondly. You're all such very special people and I wish I could say something that would make it better or help make sense of it all. Unfortunately, nothing can be said to make it ok. I've learned this myself.
I'll be thinking of you ALL ever so much. I know you'll all ban together and heal slowly but surely.
Godbless.

Terina, Bill and family --
I just heard the devastating news and cannot adequately express my sympathy -- how your family will be able to cope with such a tragic loss is beyond my comprehension, but my prayers are with you all in this horrific time.
Gather together and keep strong, for yourself and for each other. Forever after, you will now have two guardian angels watching over your lives. May God Bless you all, now and always.

Will was a shining star at the Department of Education - mature, kind, funny, smart and full of so full of potential. We will miss his smiling eyes. I'm sorry that I did not have the pleasure of meeting his brother, Dominic.
