Frank C. Brosnan

BROSNAN Frank C. Brosnan, age 81 of Stratford, beloved husband of Janet (Lulejian) Brosnan, entered eternal life Monday, January 12, 2009 at the Caroltan Nursing Facility, Fairfield. Mr. Brosnan was born December 9, 1927 in Manhattan, N.Y., son of the late Daniel and Margaret (Durnin) Brosnan. He was born and raised in Manhattan, was a 1951 graduate of Manhattan College, and was a World War II United States Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre. A Stratford resident the past 47 years, he was the founder and president of MAREC Inc., of Stratford and also worked as a physicist at Handy and Harmon, Bridgeport. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of learning and sharing of knowledge. He was a mentor and friend to many. Frank was a fixer of anything, a resource of unusual facts and tid bits, and a master of cheese cake. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Christopher Brosnan and his wife, Barbara of Easton, Barbara Cooper and her husband, John of Trumbull, Kerry Brosnan and his wife, Andrea of Newtown, and Tara LaReau and her husband, Jeffrey of Stratford; six grandchildren, Trish (Cooper) Weller and her husband, Devin, Jeff and Betsy Cooper, Olivia and Milea Brosnan, and Maggie LaReau; two brothers, Daniel Brosnan of Flushing, N.Y. and Joseph Brosnan and his wife, Helga of Pocasset, Mass.; his sister-in-law, Grace Lulejian of Sarasota, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. In the spirit of his lifelong dedication to learning, Frank has donated his body to the Willed Body Donation Program at the Yale School of Medicine. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass, Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. by meeting directly at Our Lady of Peace Church, Stratford Road in the Lordship section of Stratford. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The VNS of Connecticut, Hospice at Home, 40 Lindeman Drive, Trumbull, CT 06611 Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
