Anthony Aquilano Obituary

SANDWICH — Anthony Aquilano, of Sandwich, formerly of Watertown, died Oct. 12, 2008.

Mr. Aquilano was born in Apricena, Italy, on July 22, 1923, the son of the late Domenico and Isabella (DiLella) Aquilano. He was married to his beloved wife, Emma (Furlong) for 56 years until her death in 2006.

Before his retirement, Mr. Aquilano was a tailor and worked many years as a foreman for Cosmopolitan Co., in Boston.

He was the father of Dominic and his wife, Christina, of Bourne, Robert and his wife, June, of Southborough, Deborah and her partner, Jean Enright, of Bourne; and grandfather of John and Lauren Aquilano of Bourne. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from The DeVito Funeral Home, 761 Mount Auburn St., Watertown, on Thursday, at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Watertown. Interment is in St. Patrick Cemetery. Visiting hours are at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

While I hadn't seen Mr. Aquilano since roughly 1975, I was close childhood friends of Debbie and want to extend my belated but heartfelt condolences to the Aquilano family.
