Michael J. Driscoll

HINGHAM — Michael J. Driscoll, of Hingham, died unexpectedly on Oct. 14, 2008.

Michael was born in Cambridge and served in the Navy during the Korean War. A retired state trooper, Michael was active in the Former Massachusetts State Troppers Association. He also worked for First Security and Digital Corp. Michael enjoyed jazz, Caribbean traveling, Mohegan Sun, Humarock Beach and his swimming pool.

He was the beloved husband of Mary P. (Patsy) O'Brien; loving father of Dennis Driscoll and his wife, Robin, of Cape Coral, Fla., and formerly of Sandwich, and Maureen (Driscoll) Burden and her husband, Thomas, of Freedom, N.Y.; cherished grandfather of Rachel, Katie and Sarah Driscoll and Thomas and Michael Burden; son of the late Esther and Joseph Driscoll; dear brother-in-law of James O'Brien and his wife, Cynthia of Medway, Margaret Woodward and her husband, William, of Hanover, John O'Brien and his wife, Maureen, of Braintree, Kathleen O'Brien and her husband, Rick Thomas, of Camarillo, Calif., Claire Mabbett and her husband, Tom, of Yarmouth, Daniel O'Brien of Norton and Barbara Brooks and her husband, Stephen, of Brockton. Michael will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and a grandnephew.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial visitation in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham, on Friday, Oct. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m.
