Edward Hawley Obituary

BUZZARDS BAY — Edward W. "Eddie" Hawley, 73, of Buzzards Bay, formerly of Boston, died suddenly on Oct. 15, 2008.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Charles and Sophie Retalis Hawley. He managed the Fishing Tackle Shop at Stoddards for more than 25 years. He retired to the Cape in 1997 to follow his love of fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carlene Hawley; and three children, Michael and his wife, Alice of Boston, Shirley and her husband, Andy Sebo of Colchester, Vt., and Thomas and his wife, Anne of North Andover. He also leaves six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Evan, Jason, Eddie, Jack and Margaret; two sisters, Helen and her husband, Joseph Booker of Mattapan, and Shirley and her husband, Phillip Moloney of Hull; a sister-in-law, Lois Cosseboom of Buzzards Bay; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 450 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
