Jane E. Fritz

PROVINCETOWN — Jane E.(Enos) Fritz, 82, a lifelong resident of Provincetown, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at Seashore Point in Provincetown after a brief illness.

Born in Provincetown on Oct. 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Edward T. and Mary J. (Berrio) Enos. Mrs. Fritz was a graduate of Provincetown High School and worked as a bookkeeper at the Surf Club, J&E Fruit and the Old Colony, all in Provincetown.

Mrs. Fritz was the wife of the late Edward J. Fritz who died in November of 1998. She was the mother of seven children, including Susan J. Souza of Salem, N.H., Dorothy A. Sanderson of North Truro, Cathy Fritz of Provincetown, Mary L. Haire of Naples, Fla., Edward J. Fritz Jr. of Tilson, N.Y., Joseph D. Fritz of Braintree and Jeanne M. Worley of South Dennis. She was most proud of her 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Ruth Meads and the sister-in-law of Jane Enos, both of Provincetown, and the sister-in-law of Nancy Enos of Truro. She was also the sister of the late Leonard, Doris, Mike and Melvin Enos.

Mrs. Fritz was a lifetime member of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Provincetown.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St., Provincetown on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m., followed by burial in St. Peter Cemetery.
