SOUTH YARMOUTH — Esther Margaret Cecelia (Lachinsky-Lane) Jackmauh, of South Yarmouth, formerly of Boston, died Nov. 1, 2008.

Esther was an exceptional artist and an enthusiastic and accomplished gardener. She also knitted thousands of hats for babies in the Catholic Missions.

She was the beloved wife of the late John J.; devoted mother of Jeannine and her husband, Robert P., Largess of West Roxbury, Christina of Brighton, Irene of South Yarmouth, Martha of Hull, and Gregory and his wife, Celia, Jackmauh of Arlington and Vermont; dear sister of Edward Lane of Saugus, and the late Anna, John, Sarah, Francis and Mary; loving grandmother of Gabriel, John, Mark, Daniel and Mary Rose Largess, Jacob and Luke Jackmauh; and great-grandmother of Gabriel John Largess.

Funeral will be held from the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Friday, Nov. 7, at 8:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Lithuanian Church, Flaherty Way, South Boston, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment is in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 3 p.m.

Donations may be made in Esther's memory to the Beacon Hospice, 259 Willow St., Unit 2, Yarmouthport, MA 02675.

I am truly sorry for your loss. We must believe she is in a better place, young and healthy, beyond pain and suffering. She is also in the company of those loved ones she herself had lost. God rest her soul.
