EAST FALMOUTH — John D. Hinkle, 55, of East Falmouth, died unexpectedly on Nov. 2, 2008.

When he moved to the Cape in 1988, he was employed by New Seabury Corp., where he supervised the building of homes and condominiums. Later, he enjoyed working at Eastern Mountain Sports in Hyannis, which rekindled his enjoyment of hiking and camping.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Terry and Paul Boudreau of East Falmouth; four children, Toby Hall of Brattleboro, Vt., Meaghan Philip of Danby, Vt., Jonas Murray-Hinkle of Putney, Vt., and Claudia Hinkle of Mashpee. He also leaves his nephews, Ali Mandalinci and Adam Boudreau; niece, Ashley Boudreau; and four grandchildren, Anthony and Alyah Hall, and Ian and Ronan Philip, as well as his cousin, Judy, and Aunt Tootie.

Visiting hours are at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St., Falmouth Center, on Saturday, Nov. 8, from noon to 2 p.m.
