YARMOUTHPORT — Eleanor D. Chapin, 91, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, in Fort Collins, Colo. She lived in West Hartford, Conn., and retired to Yarmouthport. Mrs. Chapin was one of the first members of the West Hartford Belles and belonged to the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary.

She was married for 57 years to the late Douglass Norton Chapin. Mrs. Chapin is survived by her son, Terry Chapin, and his wife, Jill, of Santa Monica, Calif.; her daughter, Joan Connor of Longwood, Fla.; granddaughter, Hollie Quinn, and her husband, Patrick, of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandson Joseph Connor IV of San Diego, Calif.; grandson Christopher Connor of Ludlow; and two great-granddaughters, Cassie and Michaela Quinn of Fort Collins, Colo. She is also survived by her niece, Dory O'Brien Marchildon, and her husband, Lee, of Yarmouthport; and nephews John Marchildon of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Ted Marchildon of Boston.

Calling hours are on Monday, Dec. 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, Conn. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.molloyfuneralhome.com.
