Charlotte Stanley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 28 to Oct. 29, 2007.
WEST YARMOUTH — Charlotte (Chace) Stanley died after a period of declining health on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007.

She was the beloved wife for 51 years of William E. Stanley and mother to Deidre A. Stanley.

Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Ellwood F. and Marie F. (Hayes) Chace. She was educated and lived in Beverly and Wenham, graduating from Beverly High School, Class of 1953.

After graduating, she worked at Bomac Laboratories in Beverly as a bookkeeper. She and her husband moved from Wenham to Hamilton to raise their daughters. They retired to the Cape in 1987.

Mrs. Stanley was an avid baker for family and her friends at the stroke support group. She and her husband were volunteers at RHCI in Sandwich before declining health prevented her from volunteering at and attending the stroke support group meeting. She often said she got more out of it than what she gave. She made a point to visit each patient's room with her Joy wagon. It was said she set the standard at RHCI and touched many lives with her warmth, compassion and million-dollar smile.

She loved all animals and wildlife and was an advocate of animal rights and welfare. She was a direct descendant of the Mayflower and a lifelong member of the Rich Family Association.

Surviving her also is another daughter, Deborah M. Seto and her husband, Pak-Lung Seto, of Shrewsbury; and two grandchildren, Ashton and Ashley Seto.

A memorial service is scheduled at RHCI on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at 6 p.m.

Gifts in Charlotte's name may be made to RHCI, 311 Service Road, East Sandwich, MA 02537, or to an animal rights organization of one's choice.
