R. Peters Obituary
Mr. Peters, age 59, of Charlotte, died June 25, 2006 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born April 23, 1947 in Champaign, IL, was owner of Half Penny's Ice Cream Parlor in II Wachovia Building for 16 years, and was a member of the Charlotte Parks and Recreation Department working at Jetton Park, Freedom Park, Ramsey Creek Park and Mallard Creek Park.
A service to celebrate the life of R. Kim Peters will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Waterfront Hall of Jetton Park in Cornelius, NC with reception to follow.
Kim was the husband of 26 years to Penny Meals Peters; father to sons Jamie Peters and wife, Maija, of Charlotte and Cory Peters and wife, Leslie, of Davidson; grandfather to Kjell Peters and Cade Peters; son-in-law to Melvin and Vickey Meals of Charlotte; brother and sister-in-law of Danny and Heather Meals of Sutherlin, OR; uncle to Chelsea, Kyle and Eric; and companion to his best friends, Mabel, Maynard and Mattie.
Memorials may be made to Make A Wish Foundation, 212 S. Tryon St., Suite 1080, Charlotte, NC 28281.

I am so sorry to hear about Kim. I loved working for Kim & Penny long ago at HalfPenny's. Kim was always so upbeat. I can remember his smile. I wish the family the very best during this difficult time.

Dear: Penny, Jamie, Cory
Sabrina and I were deeply saddened upon hearing of Kim's passing. I had to leave out of town on Monday and was unable to speak to any of you. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
I will miss our conversations on home improvment issues and how to fix the endless things that have gone wrong with our homes over the years. Kim was always someone I could count on to lend help or advice. He was the perfect neighbor, I will miss him....

so sorry to hear of the loss of a great guy,friend,coworker.
he will be missed as many will see,because no one else is the same as he.
he fought the battle that was hard to win, but truly he was one of the better men.
