Even though I only saw Jack in person a couple of times, he was special to me because he was special to my dear friend, Lori. When I would call while I was in town, he was always glad to hear from me and would treat me like a friend. Lori, my heart aches for your loss. Please know your friends are here for you in this difficult time.

Jack was a modest giving person. My sister had MS and spent most of her time in bed. One day at Christmas time when she was out Jack came to her home and hooked up a brand new TV for her. She was so thrilled and watched it every day. She never knew it was from him, and that is how Jack wanted it. My thanks to Jack and condolences to his family.

Dear Lori,
I am saddened by your loss. I think about you so often...how nice you are and how I should have stayed in contact with you after leaving SBC. I just found out about Jack today, March 13th, so I thought I would express my condolences and also say hello to you. I am keeping you in my prayers as I know so many people are doing.
Miss you...

Dear Lori & The Cain Family
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the honor of calling Jack my friend . We met at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame where we were both volunteers and big fans of music. Whether it was Little Richard, Johnny Johnson, Billy Preston, or some local artist, I will always remember Jack saying " great show" as rushed off to help somewhere else backstage. I will truly miss him.
Sincerley,
Al Cortez

To Mr. and Mrs. Caine, Patty, Kevin, Brian, Lori, & many close friends:
I regret I am out of town on business till Sunday;and my brother Joe just called to tell me of Jack's death.
As you know, Jack was my roommate in Shaker Hts on Almar, circa JCU days, bestman at my wedding, and a friend for 30+ years.
So many fun memories of Jack the "Suburban Woodsman" splitting firewood in Willoughby Hills, ever present updates on the latest music venue, recorded rifts shared generously, or classic performer appearance invitations. Quiet Jack, a deep thinker; but a rock as your friend.Always his own man, but a man with a heart of butter; a softness for others in a flash.
Many will miss your presence. Peace Bro, to you and your extended family. Love, Ed

My Lori, My heart aches for you when I think of your loss. Jack touched so many people with his kindness and generosity. I send my deepest sympathy to you and the Caine family. I love you.

To Lori and family-
Jack was a truly extraordinary man and will be missed by many. Find comfort in the knowledge that you've got a guardian angel at your side. I for one am a better person for having met and gotten to know him. Prayers to you all, from one formerly of the RRHFM.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Lori and the entire Caine family. Jack and I became friends through volunteering at the Rock Hall. He inspired me through not only his love and appreciation of music, but of life in general. Jack always seemed to put others first, gaining happiness by seeing those he loved happy. His generosity to charities, especially those involving children, was just another way he showed his overwhelmingly kind spirit.
To me, he was not only a true friend, but a mentor and teacher about what is truly important in life… now I know he is there as an angel. I miss you, Jack…the world is a better place because you were here.

To Lori and the family
Jack was truly a wonderful friend and a very kind and giving man. I remember 18 years ago when my daughter was expecting her first child and I was sitting at the union hall trying to decide when I would fly to North Dakota for the birth of my first grandchild. The next day Jack gave me a packet with an airline ticket and all he said was "Pam, pay me whenever you can. Jack was a man of few words but such a kind and caring man. I am so thankful for his friendship. I will always remember him.

To Lori and the rest of the Caine Family, all our prayers. We've known you and Jack for a long time and we are very blest for that. Jack was a part of the best things that have happened to me in my adult life. He's a big part of why they were so good. There are so many things to say, but I know you all know that and experienced it. It's hard not to be devastated by this, but when I think of all those times, I can't help but feel a little more at ease. He always made us feel that way.

Jack, what can I say. I'm so sorry to have lost you as a friend, but I know you've gone on to a better place. I've worked with you for over 32 years and when you spend as much time as we do here at the telephone company, we all become part of the same workplace family.

I first met Jack at a pool party in their honor for the "Bomb Out Five" at Lorraine Cook Paci's house, it was most enjoyable under the circumstances.
It seems as though since then our paths continued to cross--working together on Union issues for CWA as Chief Stewards, as well as in the business offices for the Company-- Ohio Bell, Ameritech,
SBC and AT&T in Residence, ORC, Proto Project, HPC, Wireless, and EWO.

My prayers and sympathy goes out to Lori and the entire Caine Family, Jack was a good friend and he will be missed.

In Total Solidarity and humbly submitted,

My deepest sympathy to Lori and to the entire Caine family. Jack was a good friend and former co-worker of mine at the phone company who I've known for almost 30 years. Jack and I went to several Cleveland Indians games together and I'll always remember our trip to the 1979 U.S. Open golf tournament at Inverness Country Club in Toledo, Ohio. We had a blast. I feel very blessed to have been able to see Jack about four months ago when he attended my 30 year service anniversary luncheon. As a matter of fact, at my luncheon he gave me an envelope and inside was his tournament pass that he kept to the 79 Open we attended together. I'll always cherish having that pass from him. Jack, my good friend, I will miss you very much!!!
