Louis Trierweiler Obituary

Louis G. Trierweiler of Naperville since 1959 Funeral services for Louis G. Trierweiler, 88, will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, with the Rev. Kenneth Lehman officiating. Interment will be in Naperville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Born Jan. 26, 1918, in Aurora, he died Monday, May 15, 2006, at the RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale. Lou was a 1938 graduate of East Aurora High School and on Feb. 3, 2006, he was inducted into the East Aurora High School Sports Hall of Fame. He was an insurance broker for 50 years, retiring from Lincoln National Life, located in Fort Wayne, Ind. Golf was his passion, being the first amateur to win the Illinois Open. In 1938, he played in the Masters in Augusta, Ga., and in the U.S. Open. He again played in the U.S. Open in 1947 and during his golfing career, he shot 13 holes-in-one. Lou served his country with the Coast Guard with part of his service time in Europe from December 1943 to July 1944, and was a participant in the D-Day invasion at Normandy Beach. Lou volunteered his time at Lincoln Jr. High School for six years, over 18 years at Edward Hospital, was a member of the Naperville Evening Kiwanis Club and a member of the Judd Kendall VFW Post #3873. He was named honorary golf coach for the North Central College Women's Golf Team. He is survived by his wife, Alice Trierweiler (nee Scroggins) of Naperville; his children, Robert (Jean Laughlin) Trierweiler of Geneva, Susan (Robert) Rook of Naperville and Jerry Trierweiler of Naperville; a sister, Elinor Wake of Geneva; and his grandchildren, Colin, John and Katherine Trierweiler, and Brad and Allison Rook. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Bertha (nee Vollrath) Trierweiler and brothers, Clarence Trierweiler and Eugene Regnier.
