Johanne M. Lewis

MURRIETA, CALIF. Johanne M. (Rando) Lewis, 85, of Murrieta, Calif., formerly of Waltham, passed away June 30, 2008, at her home in California. Born in Waltham, daughter of the late James and Angelina (Giardina) Rando, she graduated from Waltham High school, Class of 1941. She worked at the Guaranty Trust Bank and then BayBank as a clerk, until her retirement in 1985, after 40 years of service. Johanne, along with her husband, owned Town Line Beer & Wine in West Newton. She also donated her time helping the Reagle Players of Waltham, making and altering costumes. She was the beloved wife of the late Yerbie "Lew" D. Lewis; mother of Patricia Lewis Daly and her husband, James Daly, James Daniel Lewis, Madelyn Lewis and her husband, David Cullinan; sister of Anthony J. Rando and his wife, Patricia J. and the late James Rando; grandmother of Paul Lewis Long and Mark Lewis Long, and aunt of Christine, Mark and the late James Rando. The funeral from the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., Watertown, will be on Tuesday, July 8, at 9 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Newton St., Waltham. Entombment will be in the Calvary Mausoleum. Visiting hours are Monday, July 7, from 4 to 8 p.m.
