Alfredo Rodriguez

WALTHAM Alfredo Cuco Rodriguez, 59, of Waltham, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a long illness. Born on Jan. 27, 1949, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, son of the late Juan Rodriguez Colon and Quiteria Perez Ortiz, Mr. Rodriguez was a resident of Waltham for the past 33 years. Mr. Rodriguez was employed as a maintenance supervisor for Modica Associates in Boston and prior for several years as a truck driver. He was an associate member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2152 on Felton Street in Waltham for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing dominos, visiting flea markets, watching sports, was an avid fisherman, and most of all he was devoted to taking care of his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Marguerita Figueroa Rodriguez; his children, Luis Velez and his wife, Amanda, of Waltham, Luis Armando of Puerto Rico, Margie Velez and Nelly Aviles, both of Waltham, Nereida Rodriguez of Asia, Minerva Rodriguez of Puerto Rico and Marilyn Saucier and her husband, Stephen, of Waltham. In addition, he is survived by his 13 cherished grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham, on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 9 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of his life at Saint Marys Church, 145 School St., Waltham, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
