Edward Pendleton Obituary

EDINBURG, Texas Edward N. Pendleton, of Edinburg, Texas, died Aug. 4, 2008. He was 67. Born in Hartford, Conn., Mr. Pendleton was a resident of Waltham most of his life. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2152 on Felton Street in Waltham. Mr. Pendleton owned and operated Wal-Lex Taxi in Waltham for many years. He was employed as a cook for several years at Brandeis University and at the Piety Corner. He was the beloved son of the late Owen and Helen (Campbell) Pendleton, husband of the late Theresa (Gargone) Pendleton, and nephew of the late John Dee. He is survived by his children, Kevin Pendleton of Marlborough, Karen Collins OHalloran and Kathy Collins Bourinot, both of Waltham, and Kenneth Collins of Weare, N.H.; his sisters, Patricia Doucette of Maine, and Sue-El len Ball of Connecticut, and his aunt, Madeline Dee of Conn. In addition, he is survived by eight grandchildren, a great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held in the Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham, on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A memorial gathering will be held in the funeral home prior to the service from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment will be held private for the family at the Massachusetts Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne.
