We are deeply saddened by the loss of Ward. We were team mates on the Army football team from 1975-1978. Ward will always be remembered as a competitor, leader, and friend to everyone on those teams.

Grip hands with us now, though we see not,
Grip hands with us, strengthen our hearts
As the long line stiffens and straightens
With the thrill that you presence imparts.
Grips hands tho' it be from the shadows --
While we swear, as you did of yore,
Or living, or dying, to honor
The Corps, and the Corps, and the Corps!

To the Whyte Family,
Mr.Whyte was kind, caring, and he had a great sense of humor.I was one of his first students during his first year at LPJ Middle School. He always helped me with math problems that I couldn't understand. He really showed that he cared about his students. He will be missed dearly. Our hearts are with you, and may God bless you always.

Mr. Whyte was a wonderful, caring, fun-loving person. I can truly say he made me laugh each and every day. I will miss him more than my words can express. Sleep well my friend.

Mr. Whyte was always very concerned when he taught our son Peter and equally concerned and fun when he coached our son Rusty on the JV football team. He always had encouraging words for our family, especially Rusty and Peter when he saw us in the school setting or attending after school activites. We know he will be missed by many. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

My prayers go out to you, the family of Mr. Stuart Whyte, during your time of sympathy. I have known Mr. Whyte since he started his teaching career in Surry County. I will remember him as a jolly person, you knew he was in the house! He worked well with his students and will be missed. Our last conversation last week was about his students. Now that basketball season had come to an end, he had planned to join us for after-school tutoring at L.P. Jackson Middle School on yesterday (Feb.11). Dry your tears and remember the good times. May God continue blessing you all.
