Shirley C. (Catlin) Peterson

Shirley C. (Catlin) Peterson, 87, of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, formerly of Virginia, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Beaumont in Northborough, Massa-chusetts, after an illness.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Cunniff and her husband, Phillip, of Shrewsbury. She also leaves a granddaughter, Jessica Cunniff of Shrewsbury and several cousins.

Her husband, Oscar A. Peterson and a son, Richard Alan Peterson predeceased her.

Mrs. Peterson was born, raised and educated in New York, daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Jensen) Catlin. She and her husband traveled extensively, living in Europe for several years. Mrs. Peterson was employed as an administrative assistant at the University of Virginia before retiring, later moving to Shrewsbury to be closer to family.

A graveside service for Shirley will be held 1 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2008, at the family lot in Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
