Elizabeth Faulconer Preddy

Elizabeth Faulconer Preddy, 93, of Gordonsville, died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.

She was born August 25, 1915, in Pamplin, Virginia, a daughter of the late Ernest Reginald Faulconer and Bessie Tinder Faulconer. She was the wife of the late Ernest James Preddy.

Mrs. Preddy was a member of the Rhoadesville Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Judith Preddy Chaplin and her husband, Bob, of Richmond; two sons, Ernest Gary Preddy of Gordonsville and James Randolph Preddy and his wife, Shelly, of Gordonsville; one brother, Walter Edward Faulconer and his wife, Helen, of Charlottesville; one sister, Carol Faulconer Myers of Charlottesville; eight grandchildren, Robert Chaplin III, Jimmy Chaplin, Christopher Chaplin, Michael Preddy, Jayme Wood, Amy Preddy, Megan Preddy and Hunter Preddy; nine great-grandchildren, Elli, Liza, Katie, Emily, Jimmy Jr. and Keller Chaplin, Justin and Chase Preddy, and Caleb Wood; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Reginald Faulconer Jr. and James William Faulconer; three sisters, Madaline F. Clarke, Virginia F. Yager and Frances F. Miller.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville with interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery. The Reverend Nancy Stanton McDaniel will officiate.

The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the funeral home.
