Douglas Stowe

Douglas Raymond Stowe, 35, of Athens, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, August 19, 2009, at his home.

He was born February 7, 1974, in Miami, Florida, the son of John Douglas and Linda Adette Hudspeth Stowe of Athens, Ohio.

A graduate of Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri, he was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and worked at Kroger's. He was a participant in Special Olympic activities.

Besides his parents, Douglas is survived by a sister, Laura Elizabeth Stowe of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Jason Roger Stowe of Athens, Ohio and David Lawrence and Melissa Myers Stowe of Logan, Ohio; a niece, Isabelle Stowe; and his maternal grandparents, Alvin and Elizabeth Hudspeth of Athens, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ronald and Louise Stowe.

A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2009, at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home in Athens, Ohio with the Reverend Lawrence H. Myers officiating.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to a local organization serving the special needs community, such as Special Olympics.
