Rose R. Kildea

Rose Rita Kildea, 86, of Charlottesville, died Wednesday, August 19, 2009.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 9, 1923, the daughter of the late William Kildea and Elizabeth A. Creelman Kildea. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Matthew and James Kildea; and sisters, Grace, Elizabeth and Anna Agnes Kildea; and by her nephew, James T. Kildea.

Miss Kildea was a member of Church of the Incarnation and was retired from JCPenney with 35 years of service as an executive secretary. She was a dedicated member of the Senior Center of Charlottesville and was particularly enthusiastic in her involvement with the ladies of the Pinkie Puppet program at the Senior Center/University of Virginia Medical Center Auxiliary.

She is survived by her nephew, Robert Kildea of North Palm Beach, Florida; and nephews, Thomas, Matthew, and James, and nieces Kathleen and Anne, all of New Jersey.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 12:15 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009, at the Church of the Incarnation, with Father Edwin Montanez officiating. After the funeral mass and a brief reception at the parish hall. Interment will take place at Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the church.

The family would like to thank the staff of Charlottesville Health and Rehabilitation as well as Hospice of the Piedmont, for their loving and tender care during Rose's final days.
