Catherine A. Fisher

Catherine "Kay" Anderson Fisher, 76, of Spotsylvania County and previously of Fairfax County, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 20, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital.

She was a graduate of Aldie High School in Aldie, Virginia. She was a Vice President in the mortgage loan business for many years in Northern, Virginia until retiring and moving to Spotsylvania County. She was a member of Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Lawrence L. Fisher, in 2006.

Survivors include her four loving and devoted daughters, Wanda McGee and Darlene Poh, of Goochland, Cynthia McGee Glenn, of Alexandria, Cheryl McGee Hill and her husband, David, of San Juan Capistrano, California and Sonya McGee Sellars, of Ashburn; her brother, Bill Anderson and his wife, Alma, of Spotsylvania; nine grandchildren, Jessica Hadel-Black, Kristen Hadel, Katelyn Sellars, Bethany and Kara MacDonald and Grace, David, Joshua, and Caleb Hill; two great-grandsons, Jacob and Patrick; five step-children and their families; and many friends and neighbors.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with the Reverend Alan Hager officiating.

Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, C/O Trudy Clifton, 113 Tallpines Ave., Locust Grove, VA 22508 or to Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church, 11121 Leavells Rd., Fredericksburg VA 22407.

My thoughts are with the children of Kay. We began our friendship in the early 60s and then were colleagues in the 80s. She will be missed by all.
