Doris Tucker Florence

Doris Tucker Florence, 95, of Orange, died Saturday, August 22, 2009, in the Dogwood Village of Orange.

She was born May 19, 1914, in Auburn, Georgia, and was a daughter of the late Carl Tucker and Leila Everett Tucker; and was married to the late Quinton Florence.

Mrs. Florence is survived by a step-son, Quinton "Buddy" Florence Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Virginia P. Wells of Bethlaham, Georgia, Patricia P. DePottey of Jacksonville, Florida and Raymond D. Parks of Gordonsville; six great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; special niece and nephew, Mary Frances Joy and John E. Tucker; and a close cousin, Lillian T. Lester.

A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville with interment to follow in Atlanta, Georgia.
