Nellie Ann Garrison

Nellie Ann Garrison, 79, of Dyke, passed away Monday, August 24, 2009, at her residence.

Born February 25, 1930, in Northern Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Genevieve Ryon Turner.

Her Husband, Norman R. Garrison; and two brothers, Franklin Turner and Chester Turner Jr., also preceded her in death.

She loved her family and her cat "Little Bit". She loved reading, watching television and listening to gospel music on Sunday morning.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Garrison and her husband, Gary, of Boonesville and Ella Shamburg and her husband, Mike, of Dale City; two grandchildren, Michael Garrison and his wife, Kelsey, of Boonesville and Karen Cochran of Steven City; five great-grandchildren, Michelle Garrison and Samantha Garrison of Boonesville and Stevyn Arnold, Sarrah Cochran, Nathanial McCormick Jr; three sisters, Pearl Parson and her husband, Larry, of Capo Beach, California, Barbara Stevens of Manassas, Nadine Hodges and her husband, Lou, of Fairfax; a brother, Edward Turner and his wife, Beverly, of Berryville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009, in Culpeper National Cemetery with Ben Houchens officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home.
