Margie Herndon Obituary
Margie Ola Bowman Herndon, born January 5, 1918, died peacefully in her home in North Garden, Virginia, on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, surrounded by family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wharton Cole Herndon; a son, Randall Cole Herndon; five brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by a sister, Ruby Hale and her husband, Jimmy, of Pratts, Virginia; a daughter, Karen Faye Davis and her husband, Wayne, of North Garden, Virginia; a son, James M. Herndon and his wife, Juanita, of Fluvanna, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Tana B. Herndon of Charlottesville, Virginia; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Margie was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in North Garden, Virginia. She will be missed by all.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August, 29, 2009, at Mooreland Cemetery with the Reverend Ronnie Morris officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Garden Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 33, North Garden, VA 22959.
