Susan Magdaline Bolden-Walker, 54, of Chase City, Virginia, died Thursday, September 17, 2009, at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond.

She was born May 25, 1955, in Orange County, the daughter of Doretha Taylor Bolden Dickerson of Gordonsville and the late Charles F. Bolden. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Tom "Butch" Dickerson.

Susan was educated in Orange County Schools and was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Gordonsville.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Alicia Walker-Crowder and her husband, Frank, of Chase City; a son, Harold Walker and his wife, Antoinette of Chase City; four grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Bolden and his wife, Peggy, of Orange, Chris Dickerson and wife, Alsace, of Orange, Harold Bolden of Gordonsville, Frank Dickerson and his wife, Wilhilmenia, of Gordonsville; one sister, Shirley Johnson of Gordonsville; and a very devoted friend, Edward Martin of Chase City.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville with the Reverend Robert Anthony officiating. Interment will follow at Woodberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
