B. Lynn Carpenter

B. Lynn Carpenter, 60, of Alexandria, Virginia, formerly of Orange County, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Ms. Carpenter served over 25 years at the District of Columbia Superior Court as the Judicial Administrative Assistant to four judges, including Brook Hedge, for the last 12 years, and earlier, Bruce Beaudin, Rufus King III, and Richard Salzman.

During the last four years, Ms. Carpenter expertly assisted with the day-to-day work of implementing the Civil Division's program to electronically file court documents with the new case management system. Most notably, she fielded questions from among the 8,000 members of the D.C. Bar and their staffs who eFiled. She also trained judges and staff on efiling and worked as the Court's liaison with the Court's vendors to ensure smooth operations.

She is survived by her mother, Bertie Lou Carpenter of Charlottesville, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larkin Eyre Bullard and her father, John Carpenter.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Johnson Funeral Home in Locust Grove, Virginia. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Orange County Humane Society, Box 623, Orange, VA 22960.

Dear Mrs. Carpenter & Family,
Our prayers go out to you and your family at this time. May memories
comfort you. Lynn was wonderful person, my husband Dave & I enjoyed many a good time with her and Gus over
the years prior to gus passing. She was a kind sweet lady who loved to have a good time, which we did.
