Bessie Grayson Goodall, 86, of Crozet, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Friday, September 25, 2009, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 15, 1922, in Madison County, Virginia, to the late Acie and Homie Grayson.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, taking walks and loved African Violet Flowers and was a member of United Methodist Church in Madison, Virginia.

The family would like to make a special acknowledgement to Dr. Russell Sawyer, Selena Gutshall, Catherine Moore, the physical therapy department and the staff at Health South and the caregivers at Hospice of the Piedmont for their wonderful care.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Judson Blair Goodall; a son, J.B. Goodall Jr.; two sisters, Virgie Meadows and Myrtle Mayberry; three brothers, Charles, Bud and Alvin Grayson.

She is survived by her two beloved daughters, Carolyn Pugh and her husband, William, of Greenwood, and Nellie Critzer and her husband, Buddie, of Crozet; a granddaughter, Kim Kennedy and her husband, John, of Crozet; three grandsons, Jeffrey Pugh and his wife, Pam, of Charlottesville, Richard Pugh and his friend, Cessiah, of Richmond and Steven Pugh of Virginia Beach; a great-grandson, Adam Pugh of Ohio; and a sister, Nellie Seale of Madison, Virginia.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Madison, Virginia, conducted by Pastor Marcus Deloach.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 or the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 188, Crozet, VA 22932.
