John Green Obituary
John Green Jr., 73, of Rapidan, departed this life on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
He was born November 7, 1935, in Orange County to the late John and Martha Johnson Green Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.
John worked in the construction industry before his retirement and serve as usher on the usher board at The Hopewell Baptist Church in Rapidan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Green, of Rapidan; six children, Lorraine, Stanley, Elaine Joanne, John Ill, Jennifer; and one stepson, Henry Cooper; five sisters, Shirley and her husband, Larry, Gladys Green, Carolyn Green, Earlene Green, Josephine Green; seven brothers, Otis Green, Willie Green, Joe Green and his wife, Mary, Carl Washington and his wife, Mildred, Earl Green and his wife, Lorraine, Edward Green, and Richard Green and his wife, Tammy; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Rapidan with the Reverend Eric Henley officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Satchell's Funeral Service Inc. of Orange is in charge of arrangements.
