Glen Draper Obituary

Glen Allen Draper, 56, of Bridgewater lost his 12 year battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

He was born April 13, 1951 in Washington County, Maryland to the late Harry and Harriett Showman Draper.

On April 13, 1974 he married Ellie (Ellis Ann) Hodge Draper from Danville, Virginia. They have three daughters Jennie Elizabeth of New York, New York, Rebecca Ann of Eugene, Oregon, and Carrie Louise of Columbia, South Carolina.

Survivors also include 9 brothers and sisters.

He graduated from Bridgewater College in 1973. His career was in computers, the first 15 years at Smith Transfer in Verona and the past 20 years at the University of Virginia.

At 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2008, Pastor Robert Alley and Chaplain Jeff Carr will conduct the graveside service at Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren. The church service will be followed by a reception in the church social hall.

Memorial donations may be made to Bridgewater Home Auxiliary Lovelight Project (302 N. Second St., Bridgewater, VA 22812), Bridgewater Church of the Brethren NYC Fund (P.O. Box 249, Bridgewater, VA 22812), or Bridgewater College Athletic Training Program (402 E. College St., Bridgewater, VA 22812).

Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater is in charge of arrangements.
