Richie,
You left us 1 year ago today. Your fine sons have grown to be exactly what you said they would be.

Richie, my deepest condolences go to your family, your friends and everyone you touched.
I'm glad we had some time to talk and laugh on our recent trip. I thank you for the wonderful company at dinner when we both wanted to skip out on formal night and glad I made you laugh with my antics. I enjoyed our conversations about growing up in Catholic schools and the stuff we would do as kids. I know how much you missed Denise and know that you're reunited again. Now you can both look after us as we continue our toils..and take some time to continue travelling.
I will miss all that but I know you're resting in peace now. Rest in peace my friend. My prayers always, your friend, Liz

The memory of you will be with us always. Our trips together to far off places are some of our fondest memories. How could we ever forget the trip to Argentina and Antarctica? We will miss you very much but console ourselves in the knowledge that you are now at Peace.

Richie,
You will be sadly missed by Toni and I. You were family to us and will always be considered as such. You were the brother I wished I had. Your passing is very sad but I know that your heart which was broken when Denise passed is now mended. You are both together again in Peace.
I love you and miss you.

Dear Ken and Richard's Family:
It is with a sad heart that I write this note. Richard's sudden death must leave you heartbroken and in great pain. Richard and Ken were together in my Sixth Grade class at St. Pancras (Old) School in Glendale and I have such warm and fond memories of them. Switching seats to see if they could fool me, which only worked once in a while. They weren't aware, at that age, that Sisters had special powers to keep up with 12-year-olds--even twins--and we had "eyes in the back of our heads, too."
I recall with joy the pleasure of teaching both Ken and Richard and please accept my deep sympathy at Richard's death. May the Lord give you comfort in this time of grief.
A friend shared this Eskimo proverb with me this past week:
"Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy." I can't help but think that it is only when we are standing in the dark that we can see starlight.
Ken, you are in my prayers and I send you fondest consoling thoughts.
Blessings,
With love,
Maureen Raber

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself … any man’s death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
