James Shepherd Obituary

SHEPHERD, JAMES, Born November 17, 1942 in Bedias, TX, James passed away October 6, 2006 in Dallas. After many years in the publishing industry, James retired from Southern Territory Associates, the company he founded in 1977. He was actively involved in his church and the Boy Scouts of America. James served twice as Scout Master of Troop 890 and twice led troops to the BSA National Jamboree. He received the Silver Beaver award in recognition of his services. James touched many lives and will be greatly missed by everyone that had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Shepherd. James is survived by his wife, Sandra; children: Chris Shepherd, Mark Shepherd (Heather), Sherri Biggins (Ian), Thomas Gardner, Lauren Shepherd, and Charles Shepherd; seven grandchildren; mother, Johnnie Shepherd; two brothers, David Shepherd (Bettie) and Paul Shepherd (Irma); and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, 9015 Plano Road, Dallas, TX 75238. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to BSA Troop 890 Grant Milner Memorial Scholarship Fund, 3905 Eversham Drive Plano, TX 75025. Restland 972-238-7111 restlandfuneralhome.com
