POWELL, Thomas POWELL, Gwenda Thomas (George T.) Powell Age 82 died instantly in an auto accident on July 12, 2017. His wife and love of his life Gwenda, died 10 days later due to injuries and complications from the accident. Tom was a devoted husband, loving supportive father, grandfather and uncle. He loved his family with everything he had. He was known for his kindness, devotion, sense of humor and love of silver. He was a God loving man who made a difference and never knew a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leslie Powell and sister Jean Cotterman. He lead a full wonderful life including surviving the bombing of Pearl Harbor at age 7. He was an accomplished mathematician, Tool and Die Designer specializing in tab dies for pop top cans, and retired Owner of Precision Ratios, Inc. Tool and Die Shop. Gwenda Powell (Purvis) age 79 is now dancing free and worshiping her Savior. She left this world on July 22, 2017 due to injuries and complications from the auto accident. She was a loving, devoted mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. Friendship was her gift and she gave it freely. Her devotion to her daughter, husband and grandsons was immense. Her excitement about Jesus was infectious to those around her. She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Berniece Purvis. They leave behind their only child and daughter Dawn Rene' Thomas, son in law Jerry, grandsons Dayne, Joel (Ryah) Corey (Krisha) and Jamie. Sister Pauline Landhuis (Krieg), sister Sondra Sano, brother and sister In law David and Barbara Purvis, a host of nephew and nieces, friends both old and new. A celebration of life service will be held for them at Kettering Assembly of God 2250 E. Stroop Rd. on Fri., July 28, 2017 from 4:30-6:00 with dinner to follow. Anyone who desires to share will be able to do so at that time. In lieu of flowers, do an act of kindness, buy someone groceries, or make amends with a friend or loved one. Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Uncle Tom and Aunt Gwenda were THE BEST!! I never saw one without the other. My mom and Uncle Les were there to greet them I am sure.
