Memorial service for Elizabeth Hagler Richardson, 91, of Decatur will be Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church with a reception to follow. The Rev. Richard Lawson will officiate.
Burial will be in St. John's Gardens.
Mrs. Richardson, who died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at Riverside Assisted Living, was born May 7, 1917, in Birmingham to Benjamin and Maude Beason Turner. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she was the head of the Junior Altar Guild for many years. She was the first real estate agent in Decatur to sell $1 million. Her daughter, Hilton Hagler; husband, Joseph Hagler, and second husband, Frank "Bubba" Richardson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one grandson, Hagler Wiley and his wife, Rachel, of Decatur; two sisters, Mildred Turner Strong and Dorothy Turner Wilson of Birmingham; two stepgrandchildren, Bonnie Richardson of Mooresville and Charlotte Richardson of Huntsville; and two great-granddaughters, Hilton and Harrison Wiley.
A special thank you to all of our sitters, most especially, Luette Vernon and Bertha Nalls, for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 202 Gordon Drive S.E., Decatur, AL 35601.

Yes, what a vital woman Elizabeth was-she lived her life to the fullest-had many friends who were glad they had known her and her daughter who was treasured..

Elizabeth was one of my favorite people in Decatur. When I came there to live in 1989 she helped me look for a house and then we became friends enjoying lunch and visiting over the years. I have since moved away, but remember her with love.
