Bennett-Gerber, Carol (Yeckel)
Greece: Carol (Yeckel) Bennett-Gerber, 53, died at her Manhattan, NY home on May 20th after a long and valiant battle with cancer. A former resident of Greece, NY, Carol is survived by her husband of 25 years, Charles E. Gerber; her brother David (Kathleen) Yeckel; sister-in-law Francine Rabin; nephews Christopher (Heather) McNeil-Yeckel, Joseph Yeckel and niece Rachel (Gary) Goldberg; grand nieces Larissa and Emma McNeil-Yeckel and grand nephews Jonathan and Zev Goldberg. Carol was the daughter of the late Edward and Audrey Yeckel also of Greece.
Carol was an accomplished writer, stage director and a founding member of the WorkShop Theater Company a small off-off Broadway theater company specializing in developing new scripts. A memorial was held at the theater on June 8th.
Those wishing to remember Carol with a contribution may donate to the Maryknoll order of missionary Fathers and Brothers whose members so beautifully cared for Carols spiritual needs during her final days.
