Flannigan, Edna Feeley
Rochester: Edna Feeley Flannigan, 89, of Rochester, formerly of Skaneateles passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008. Edna was born September 14, 1918 in Skaneateles, NY the daughter of the late Edward and Ann Murray Feeley. She graduated from Skaneateles High School and attended Syracuse University. In 1944 she married her high school sweetheart First Lieutenant Robert S. Flannigan Jr. Edna lived most of her life in Skaneateles, moving to Guilderland in 1968 and later moving to Rochester to be near her children. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Edna was also a wonderful gourmet cook who liked sharing her extensive collection of recipes. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and was a member of the Skaneateles Garden Club. She was a communicant of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Skaneateles and was active in many church organizations.
Edna was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1993; by her sister, Anna Margaret Feeley and by her brother, Edward Feeley. She is survived by her children, Robert S. Flannigan III (Linda) of Penfield, Richard Flannigan (Deborah) of Cazenovia, and Ann Marie Irving (Paul) of Henrietta; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 am Wednesday at St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Skaneateles. Burial will follow in St. Mary's of the Lake Cemetery in Skaneateles. There are no calling hours. A reception for family and friends will follow in the parish hall. Contributions in Edna's memory may be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
